The last thing that a child wants to do is to get up and ready for school in the morning. They would rather lay in bed all day and forget about the tests and homework. That obviously can't happen, so how do you wake children up on a school morning when they just don't want to do it? It isn't as hard as it sounds.

The best ways to wake children on a school morning are:

1. To use an alarm clock. You can purchase a fairly cheap alarm clock for your child's room that can be set for the right time for your child to get up. Teach your child how to use the clock and make sure that he/she has it set before going to bed. Don't teach them about the snooze button though. That starts a bad habit that often ends up in making people late.

2. Gently rubbing the child's back and saying "wake up, it's time to get up". If you do this gently, the child will wake up much easier and will be in a better mood. There is nothing worse than being awakened out of a deep sleep abruptly. It is enough to ruin the entire day. Keep this in mind when you are waking your child for school in the morning.

3. Turn on the radio when you want to wake up your child on a school morning. Turn it up enough so that it your child will hear it and wake up. You don't have to turn the volume up on the highest setting. Don't make it hard rock music either. You can choose music that you child doesn't like too. That will be enough to get them out of bed hoping that you will turn it off. Music can have an amazing wake up affect for your child on a school morning.

4. Cook breakfast. Waking up children on a school morning can be as easy as cooking breakfast in the morning. Your child's senses will smell the food cooking. His/her stomach will start craving the food that it knows is in the kitchen and the child will wake up. You don't have to rely on sound to wake children up. All our senses are working while we are asleep. The noise from the kitchen will also serve as a wake up call.

If you want to wake your child up on a school morning doesn't have to mean that you make a lot of noise or pour cold water on them. There are many ways that you can wake a child up in the morning without resorting to devices that will only serve to make them grouchy and less productive during the school day. The above tips are just a starter as to how you can wake your child up on a school morning.
